More about VBLS & VBLA

The oceanfront beaches of Virginia Beach have been guarded and protected by the Virginia Beach Lifesaving Service since 1930. VBLS is a certified agency of the United States Lifesaving Association and a certified BLS / Non-Transport Agency. The non-profit 501(c)(3), Virginia Beach Lifeguard Association, is a local chapter of the United States Lifesaving Association. Each summer the VBLA completes its mission of promoting beach safety through multiple avenues. VBLA also hosts and participates in local, regional and national competitions to motivate guards to train harder and better work together to protect the citizens and visitors to Virginia Beach.
